(CDMD) in higher education context. It will cover five units of thoughtfully selected contents.

5: Curriculum in Malaysian Higher Education.
Unit 1 will expand and deepen participants’ understanding of the meaning of the term
‘curriculum’; Unit 2 will expose them to the foundations on which a curriculum stands; Unit 3 will
provide them with insights into the three major models of curriculum development; Unit 4 will
guide them on the principles used in designing curriculum; Unit 5 will present the curriculum
design approach adopted by the Malaysian Higher Education system. All the units are therefore
interwoven with the primary aim of enabling the participants to apply the knowledge and skills

involving the use of group discussions, collaborative learning, and participant-directed learning.
At the of the workshop, participants should be able to
1. Apply the various meanings of curriculum in explaining various curriculum approaches.
