William Chong Woei Fong holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering, which he earned in 2007 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor, Malaysia. Subsequently, he pursued further studies, completing his Master of Science in Automotive Product Engineering in 2009 and earning his Ph.D. in Engineering in 2012, both from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.

Currently, Dr. William serves as an Associate Professor and Research Fellow at the Automotive Development Centre (ADC) within the School of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at UTM. His research expertise encompasses a wide range of topics, including automotive tribology, the development of biodegradable lubricants, and the study of interfacial phenomena influenced by boundary friction. Notably, he has recently expanded his research portfolio to encompass waste valorization through thermal conversion techniques.

Dr. William’s multifaceted research background underscores his commitment to advancing knowledge in mechanical engineering and sustainability, particularly in areas that address automotive performance, lubrication, and waste management through innovative thermal conversion methods.
