Malaysian-BLOSSOMS

BLOSSOMS partnering researchers from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have won 14 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals at the National University Carnival on E-Learning 2014 (NUCEL 2014), initiated by the Malaysian Public Universities e-Learning Council (MEIPTA). This competition was a platform to promote, explore, share expertise, and best practices on the application of e-learning within public institutions, private institutions and private companies from all over the country. The NUCEL 2014 Carnival encompasses three main activities, which were exhibitions, competitions and the recognition and awards of achievements (National E-Learning Awards) in improving the quality of e-learning.

The Malaysian BLOSSOMS video entitled “Is There A Connection Between Computer Network Topologies and a Malaysian Wedding?” won a gold medal under the category of Invention, Innovation & Design on e-Learning (IIDEL). Dr. Zaleha binti Abdullah, the Malaysian BLOSSOMS Project Manager, also won the National e-Learning Award under the category of Creative & Interactive video lessons through the BLOSSOMS project. She received the prize in the form of a certificate, a trophy and a token of money. In addition, the UTM booth also won second place as the best booth.
