NALI2025 Workshop 2: Using Generative AI in Teaching and Learning!

I recently had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on “Generative AI in Teaching and Learning” which explored practical ways in which artificial intelligence can support and enhance the teaching and learning (T&L) process.

The session focused on the use of ChatGPT and Canva as powerful tools to simplify lesson preparation and content creation, design more interactive and engaging learning materials, and foster greater student participation and collaboration in the classroom. This experience underscored the transformative potential of generative AI in creating innovative, student-centered learning environments.

New Teaching and Learning Books

I’m pleased to share that one of my writings has been published in the recently released book “Best Practices of Research-Led Teaching” by UTM CDeX, launched in early 2025.

My chapter, titled “GIS and RS Applications,” highlights how I incorporate a research-tutored approach in the classroom — guiding students through real research content and methods to develop deeper understanding and skills in geospatial analysis.

This work reflects my continued commitment to bridging research and teaching — ensuring students are not only learning about research, but actively learning through it.

Thank you to UTM CDeX for the opportunity, and to all colleagues and students who have contributed to this meaningful journey.
