Institutional or Corporate DNA is an analogy, or a metaphor, and is primarily accumulated culture or personality, plus its accumulated memory, and its process of learning of all its members.
If it is inherited, as in genetics then it originates from its founder – its parents. But then it gets modified as new people are added to the culture.
