Dot Product and Cross Product of Vectors

– Dot product is also the product of two vectors but it turns out to be a scalar and hence contains only magnitude but no direction.

– Cross product is the vector product of two vectors. Cross product has a direction perpendicular to the direction of the direction of both the vectors .

Operations on Vector

Here we learn an operation on vectors,

1. addition,

2. subtraction

3. and, scalar multiplication.

Vector Addition

Vector Addition using Parallelogram Method.

Draw the vectors so that their initial points coincide. Then draw lines to form a complete parallelogram. The diagonal from the initial point to the opposite vertex of the parallelogram is the resultant.

Vector Subtraction

Multiplying Vector by a Scalar

multiply a vector by a scalar it is called “scaling” a vector, because we change how big or small the vector is.

HERE is the slide for this topic. If you have any problem, you can contact me via comment bellow or just whatapps me. SO I can try my best to explain it to you.

And here are some youtube videos that can explain the subject too.

Introduction to vectors

A vector has both a magnitude and a direction. If we have one line, it will be a vector if we have a magnitude of that line (distance), and at the same time, we have a direction of that line that has the start and end of the line
Here is the power point video for my lecture of introduction to vector.
To make you understand more, I find some youtube video that explain the introduction of a vector that is useful.

Solving a System of Linear Equations Using the Inverse of a Matrix and Factorization

We can solve our system linear equations by transforming the system linear equation into the matrix form. We already learn to solve it using REF and RREF. Now we will learn how to solve it using the inverse matrix and Factorization Matrix.

Solving a System of Linear Equation using the Inverse

Video below is to make you understand more how to solving the linear equation using Inverse Matrix.

And here the video to solve using Factorization.

1. LU decomposition

2. Doolittle Factorization

3. Crout Factorization.
