Data Transmission refers to the movement of data in the form of bits between two or more digital devices. More precisely, data transmission is the physical transfer of data (a digital bitstream or a digitized analogue signal) over a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication channel. This course builds on the fundamentals of Communication Electronics (SMJE 3143) and focuses on data link layer protocols (Layer 2) of the TCIP/IP or OSI protocol suite.
