Data Transmission refers to the movement of data between two or more digital devices. More precisely, data transmission is the physical transfer of data over a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication channel using a set of communication protocols. This course builds on the fundamentals of Communication Electronics (SMJE 3143) and focuses on protocols of the IETF’s TCIP/IP suite. Through lab-work, students will also learn techniques of network monitoring and packet analysis using Wireshark analyzer software.
