THE DUTCH RESEARCH COUNCIL ASSESSOR

THE DUTCH RESEARCH COUNCIL ASSESSOR

I like the way how the Dutch works.

They appoint scientific assessors/reviewers based on one’s expertise; expert that based on their research field.

They do not simply appoint any Dutch Head of the Ministry/Department or any Director of an Dutch Institute which are not the experts of the field.

The keyword here is the “expert of the field”.

I’ve been appointed by The Dutch Research Council (NWO) and The Netherlands e-Science Center (NLeSC) as their part of their Scientific Panel to evaluate their researchers proposal submitted for the Dutch research grant application. Definitely I’m not Dutch but the research topics submitted is in my area of expertise.

As an international assessor representative, I need to prepare a comprehensive report and comments. I have managed to complete it in-time even during this strenuous time frame.

DIRECT MESSAGE (DM)

DIRECT MESSAGE (DM)

(This post is related with my previous post)

There are LI friends congratulating or Direct Message (private message) asking me how I managed to achieved 10 Awards of Excellence for Active Blended Learning in all the courses. And how to get such high access hits in the elearning system.

What I did was, the implementation of the course is structured alike courses offered internationally. Organized by topics and also sub-topics (including exercises and lab tasks).

Perhaps instructors can mirrors some of the courses offered like in Coursera, Udemy, FutureLearn or any MOOC offered online. There you will have an idea how courses are being designed and implemented.

But if you have any tips and hints, please mind to share. I believe this will benefit the students in their learning process. While improving ours.

Below are the student’s feedback about their courses for this semester. Mine are the most left and right (red arrow). This “Satisfaction Index” is important for future reference.
