REQUEST FOR AN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH BOOK REVIEW

REQUEST FOR AN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH BOOK REVIEW

This week ends with an offer to be a reviewer for an upcoming research book. Usually this responsibility is given to me to evaluate journals and conference papers. But this time I have been nominated to review a research book with 12 chapters.

This book/publisher publishes more than 100 journals in both electronic and printed formats. These journals are indexed in recognized indexing agencies, such as Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, MEDLINE/Index Medicus, PubMed, Scopus, Chemical Abstracts, and EMBASE.

I believe I have an academic responsibility to make a positive impact on the society. I call this as “my academic way”.

PHD AND MPHIL RESEARCH PROGRESS PANEL

PHD AND MPHIL RESEARCH PROGRESS PANEL

I’m so opportune to see these happy faces of our postgraduate students (researchers) from several parts of the globe. Delighted to give comments for their research progress and supportive feedback for their next semester planning.

  • 8:30am to 4:30pm.
  • 6 future PhDs & 5 future MPhils

A student mentioned that I look serious from beginning till the end. That really made my day.

There was a quote by Harshvardhan Rane:
“My father looked like this serious guy but was actually a very kind person.”

TEN (10) UNEXPECTED AWARDS FOR 2020

TEN (10) UNEXPECTED AWARDS FOR 2020.

(Covid-19 pandemic changed lot of things)

Never crossed my mind to be awarded with 10 Award of Excellence for my courses taught for year 2020. I wish to thank to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) for giving me these awards. Active Blended Learning Course award, given to academic courses which fulfilled the requirements in UTM elearning system towards 21st-century learning skills.

Surprisingly, after some careful checking, there are courses which reaches more than 15,000 hits in the elearning system. It means that each student access the system at least five times daily throughout the semester!

I’m not sure if my courses are interesting or difficult until it reaches such a high access hit. Or maybe they are bored at home due to MCO and opt for studying deeper into my courses. Whatever it is, I hope that the knowledge imparted will be useful for students in the future. Let us pray for this pandemic washed away.

“I don’t love studying. I hate studying. I like learning. Learning is beautiful.” – Natalie Portman
