Synopsis
This is an introductory course on differential equations. Topics include first order ordinary differential equations (ODEs), linear second order ODEs with constant coefficients up to fourth order, method of Laplace transforms, Fourier series, and partial differential equations (PDEs).
Learning Outcome
- Execute appropriate techniques to solve first, second and higher order ordinary differential equation.
- Identify and apply Laplace transform and its inverses for real valued functions and extend the knowledge to solve various types of system of differential equations using Laplace transforms.
- Determine Fourier series of given periodic functions.
- Execute suitable methods of solving partial differential equations.
