The spatial configuration axial line analysis superimposed on both 1957 and 2020 maps are compared side by side above. The particular 1957axial map of Jalan Ampang confirmed the street as an important network contributing to the integral growth of Kuala Lumpur city structure, whereby other street network seem to be originating and distributed around from the old mining town of Ampang district. However it is further argued that the full potential of Jalan Ampang as the multi layers of inter-connected spines within the vicinity of Kuala Lumpur City Centre has not been fully utilized in the rapid development of the area. The observation survey on movement pattern on Jalan Ampang has also shown that the street has been much geared towards a vehicular centric in nature, much less for the pedestrians , thus resulting to a low accessibility for people.
