MBR 1180 Urban Design (Mixed-mode)

Application of the theoretical and operational concepts of urban design to a case study site. Students work in groups to produce site proposals at appropriate scales, complying with all the statutory requirements of the planning authority. Applying techniques of site investigations and analyses, concept plans through the use of design rationales, project feasibility studies and design brief incorporating appropriate methods of graphic presentations.

Lecture, Problem-based Learning, Cooperative Learning, Individual Learning, Experiential Learning, Tactile and Emotional Experiences .

LEARNING OUTCOME

Able to analyze, synthesize and interpret information from surveys.

Able to Develop, design and display appropriate solution based on the conceptual framework and prepare detailed comprehensive urban design brief.

Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in an organised and rational way and communicate ideas both graphically and orally
