For the love of your pet

A man risked his life to save that of his beloved puppy’s from the grip of an alligator, and it was all recorded by a nearby surveillance camera. Thankfully, both man and canine are OK.

The dramatic encounter in an Estero neighborhood was caught on record thanks to a partnership between the Florida Wildlife Federation and the fSTOP Foundation.

Richard Wilbanks says his instincts and adrenaline kicked in when a gator snatched his dog, Gunner, and dragged him into a pond. He immediately jumped into the water to save his pet.

Wilbanks he called the encounter a learning experience.

We’re so unworthy of Belyash, the Russian cat

via The Daily Mail:

Belyash the cat, from Moscow, cannot stand sour cream, according to its owners. In a video showing the fluffy white moggy sitting on a patterned blanket, its owner places an opened pot in front of it. The cat appears to have a concerned expression as the pot is brought towards it – even looking away. But its natural curiosity means it can’t resist leaning in to give the substance a sniff.

Too cute for words 😀

My electricity bills are giving me headaches and heartaches

It’s a no-brainer as to why this happened. While everyone was following the government’s directive to #JustStayAtHome, this caused a significant surge in electricity usage in residential sectors, which resulted in a spike in electricity bill costs.

Too heartbreaking

IPOH: “Tolong doa dan terus solat hajat. Abah mintak maaf. Jaga diri semua.” (Please pray and continue performing solat hajat. Forgive Abah. Take care, everyone).

These were the last words of Ahmad bin Ahmad Taib, 58, to his wife and children, before he died from Covid-19 at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here, on Wednesday.

Images of the message, which was scribbled on a piece of paper, went viral on social media after they were shared by his daughter, Syafiqa Humairak, 32, on her Facebook page.

Useful guidelines for Malaysians who tested positive for COVID-19

With cases of COVID-19 on the rise, many are asking: what happens if I test positive? Will I be hospitalised? How will all my close contacts be traced?

The good news is there are clear guidelines, COVID-19 hotlines, and many online consultation services provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Malaysia that answer these queries.

Please give PEACE a chance

There are many hardships facing Indian soldiers posted to the icy Himalayan hilltops along the disputed border with China. But no one expected this.

One moment, they felt healthy and alert, eyes peeled for signs of their aggressive neighbour’s troops. Then, within less than a minute, they began to vomit almost simultaneously, as if struck down by a violent stomach bug.

The soldiers’ bodies grew weak, with some barely able to stand, and they fled, leaving the hilltops open for units of Chinese soldiers to move in and occupy. Not a shot had been fired.
