Mari Bersama Raikan Graduan, Ibu bapa dan Tetamu Sempena Majlis Konvokesyen UTM ke 61
C&P Vice Chancellor UTM
Assalamu’alaikum/Salam Sejahtera semua warga UTM,
Sekian, terima kasih.

Assalamualaikum /Warm Greetings to UTM Community,
I hope that all of you are doing well and in good health.
As we all know, the 61st Convocation Ceremony will take place on the 10th until the 12th of April 2018. As I have shared during the last convocation, to us, the convocation is a routine ceremony happening twice a year. However, to the graduates and their families, the convocation ceremony is an occasion much awaited, which is a proud and meaningful moment to celebrate their success. Therefore, in conjunction with this special event, I would urge the whole UTM community to celebrate this memorable occasion with the graduates and their families.
We should appreciate this happy moment in celebration with students and their families. As we frequently mention, the whole campus eco-system is involved in nurturing the students. As such, I would like to invite everyone in UTM community at all levels to give the best to all our guests, whether they are our graduates or their families. I am also very proud and appreciate all efforts, initiatives and commitments by UTM staff and students in working together to maintain the cleanliness of the campus. The unity and togetherness demonstrated by the community in making this university a “happy and cheerful” campus is always appreciated.
Let them feel our friendly culture. Let us pray that this UTM Convocation Ceremony will run smoothly with much joy and happiness. Lastly, I would like to express my utmost appreciation to everyone who are involved directly and indirectly in making this convocation and all other programmes taking place in conjunction with this convocation ceremony a successful one.
Thank you.

High Precision Valve Seat
High Precision Valve Seat
Brand: NEWEN
Model: CONTOUR-CS
Like the principle of the turning lathe, FIXED-TURNING® is based on the simultaneous shifting of a single-point cutting tool around two axes (x, z). Unlike the lathe where the piece rotates, FIXED-TURNING® sees the tool rotating beyond its two axes (x, z) while the piece (cylinder head) remains still. The tool, piloted by a numerical system, has the capacity to describe the longest profiles (within the limit of the spindle) together with the most complex ones, including radii, straight lines and diverse concave or convex curves. Like the precision lathe, FIXED-TURNING® tool machines the most complex shapes with the highest precision. FIXED-TURNING® carries out different operations, including curves, straight lines, inclined in all the directions. The NEWEN® numerical control pilots the shifting of the tool so that the cutting section remains identical regardless of the portion of the machined profile. A powerful computer continuously calculates the optimal trajectory of the tool so that the cutting efforts are regular and reduced to a minimum. Every single shaving calculated from a fraction of a second to a fraction of a second is produced in such way that no fluctuation of the cutting efforts can disrupt the balance and the flexibility of the spindle. FIXED-TURNING® performs a perfect operation and ensures the air-tightness of the valve seats. The machining programs are automatically optimized and memorized for the operations to follow one another while the precision repeats itself endlessly.

The T20, M40 And B40 Income Classifications in Malaysia
Malaysians are categorised into three different income groups: Top 20% (T20), Middle 40% (M40), and Bottom 40% (B40). Over the years, the bar for each group’s income level has increased and this is one of the indicators of economic growth. Here’s the latest definition for T20, M40 and B40 based on the findings from the Department of Statistics Malaysia in October 2017.
To be in the T20 group, a household needs to earn at least RM13,148 while M40 and B40 groups have moved their bars up to RM6,275 and RM3,000 respectively.
To recap, the Department of Statistics Malaysia has released a report named Household Income And Basic Amenities Survey 2016. In the report, it stated that the median household income for T20, M40 and B40 has shown a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 6%.
On top of that, Malaysia’s household median monthly income crossed the RM5,000 mark for the first time last year, with M40 households registering the highest growth in median income, according to the Department.
