To be honest, the reason i venture into physics and education line was highly affected by two events in my life.

When I was a form 4 student, I really hate physics. I don’t understand why I should learn physics. It was only five physics topics at that time, but it caused me my life. Encik Jamal, my teacher at that time tried his very best to teach us on the beauty of physics but I am in denial to understand the whole concepts of physics. I remember vividly that I wish to not see physics anymore. However, a year later, when I was transferred to the first class of the form 5, it gives me total different perspectives. I would never forget the advice Encik Jamal had given to me, ‘You need to love the teacher first, then the knowledge will come after you’. Amazingly, in this class, student appreciate the teacher and put a high value to the teacher. I wonder why? with the same physics teacher I can learn better when I was form 5 compared to form 4. I strongly believe i was influenced by the class environment. Most of my classmates love to critics and comment on the teacher, hence- the environment is neither encouraging nor positive. Whilst in my form 5, my classmate never says anything bad about the teacher and they appreciate the teacher. Did I mention that I actually pursue my bachelors and doctorate in Pure Physics? despite the drama that I have been through.

My second experience was when I am in my second year of my bachelor. We had to combine the two class for the whole semester. The class was so pack with peoples and I couldn’t focus. The other reason because the lecturer teaches passively. He just read and teach whatever he wanted to without really seeing the students. I became rebelious and I started to sit at the back- watching korean drama using my laptop. Rude. Yes, I am. I did not really appreciate my teacher. Once, I have gotten my final results, I realize that I got D. Honestly, I use to get good result and getting D is like an eye opener for me. I shouldn’t be such a rude student.

I reflected back on my journey and I come to a conclussion. Teaching and learning is all about blessing. I started to ponder my attitude and my mistakes along the journey. I hope any other student did not repeat my mistakes. I want to make a different and want the students to know that, it is the blessing from the teacher –that will be a ticket for their succes and hapiness. Be humble in everything and find the good environment for us to grow. I want to inspire them to be a great human with great value and quality. Hopefully, they will choose the right friend and the right environment for them to grow.

I was awarded with doctorate in Physics back in 2016. At that time, my motivation is to be an inspiring lecturer to teach my students on the beauty of Physics with the great value as a humble human. After I completed my doctorate, I was given the oppurtunity to work as a researcher in the Centre for Engineering Education, CEE. The project that we worked at that time was on the Problem Based Learning, PBL for Schools. The selected teacher from two pilots school were given the mandate to teach students using interactive and engaging methods of PBL. They were given training for them to apply in their PdPc. Seeing how passionate the teachers were despite the struggle to implement PBL, I started to know that, I wanted to be part of the community to provide them knowledge, support and motivation for them to become a good teacher equipped with a good method in PdPc. Being an academic staff in School of Education, in physics education- I wished I could contribute in developing the future teachers that will shape the future of Malaysia.  Hence, I wanted to help inspire the teachers to be an excellent and eminence teacher.

I sincerely believe that, work in the arena of the education is not my forte, since I don’t have the basic knowledge on education. What I have with me is the love that I have to make a difference for me and for people. I started to learn all the terminology and the concept of teaching in education. I wanted to equip myself with a strong foundation for me to pursue my goals to inspire the students (future teacher). I wished to make more research and improve myself in the teaching aspect. Hence, I will try my best to join any workshops and training for me to improve myself as a teaching staff. Infact, I have attended few training on active learning and already implement it in my teaching. It is fulfilling to see my student become proactive in the class and I still have a lot of things to learn and polish myself as an academic staff. In doing so, i seeked advices from PM. Dr. Fatin Aliah Phang, Dr. Nor Farahwahida, Dr. Hadi, Prof Jalil Ali, Prof Khairiyah, Dr. Rohaya, Dr. Fairuz Diyana, PM. Dr Kama, Dr. Azmahani, Dr. Hanita, Dr. Hazirah, Dr. Najua, Dr. Rustam and so many more who have an experience in the education line. I know I have to work a lot on education, since I do not have any background on education. so I have to do it by all means.
