This is one of my favourite ayat in the Quran:

“Work, O family of David, in gratitude.” And few of My servants are grateful. (34:13)

I love this ayat because it reminds me a few things:

• a way to show Allah that we are in gratitude of him is to work and to do your work well, not just through tahmid and prayers.
• that we should be grateful that Allah gives us the energy and good health to work.
• that we should resist from complaining about work because as Allah has willed it, the work and responsibility we have is what is best for us.

I think I constantly forget to be grateful to Allah for what I have and this ayat reminds me of that.

Have courage to speak up! to change! to transform!
