I received an appreciation poster from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia management. Fortunate to be one of the recipients of this competitive national fundamental research grant. The grant allocation received is 100% as requested without any reduction. The highest amount grant received in Geoscience domain.

Congratulations to Isa Muhammad Zumo from Adamawa, Nigeria for having his PhD defense on August 5th, 2021.
Held virtually, student is at his home country while the viva voce session is conducted according to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia local time. The session started at 2am (Nigeria time) and ended after a few hours. I believe it was a very long night for the student.
A bit of interesting info is that, at Adamawa state, it is recorded zero case for COVID-19 and there is no more rules to wear a face mask. Its an info that is quite different from what other countries are going through.
Anyway, congratulations once again to the student for passing his viva voce.

Congratulations and thank you to GSCAEE 2021 organizer The Scientist and MDPI Building Journal for inviting me as a keynote speaker at this summit. It is the most well-organized online conference to date.
I was informed next year, GSCAEE 2022 will take place in Copenhagen Denmark. If things go back to normal, I plan to be there. I am excited to visit my old house there again.
Congratulations to my PhD student Nurfairunnajiha for successfully presenting and defending her excellent PhD first defense (proposal) this morning. Thanks to the panel for the constructive comments given during the presentation just now.
Fairun is a fast track student, from Bachelor degree to PhD (without MPhil). This opportunity were given only to students with a good academic achievement during Bachelor degree.
We wish to share our journal paper “Virtual 3D Campus for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)” has been accepted and published in the ISPRS Journal Special Issue “Virtual 3D City Models”. The editor for the journal is Rudi Stouffs (National University of Singapore – NUS), and Wolfgang Kainz (University of Vienna) as the Editor in Chief of this journal. It is a 2.239 Impact Factor journal with a 3.8 Scopus CiteScore (Q2 Journal).

BRONZE AWARD FOR INDUSTRIAL ART AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION (INATEX 2020)
This is a teamwork by 3D GIS Research Group, UTM. Our group won the Bronze Medal for this exhibition with an innovation entitled “3D City Modeling towards Smart City Applications”.
INATEX 2020 was participated by 75 participants with various research innovations submitted for this competition. We wish to congratulate to the other winners. Hopefully this exhibition can boost more innovation in this world of research.
