Here are some tips towards a good teaching philosophy statement: 

  1. Keep the philosophy short and informative. The designed statement should be no more than one or two pages, based on the Ohio State University Center for the advancement of teaching.
  2. Use present tense and write statement in first person.
  3. Use common langauage and avoid any jargon.
  4. Create a vivid potrait that includes strategies and methods to help reader to ”take a peek” into your classroom.
  5. Make sure you talk about your own experiences and beliefs.
