Project : Investigation on the structural vulnerability due to seismic loading in Sabah between JKR and eSEER UTM.
Objectives :To evaluate existing buildings performance subjected to earthquake loadings.
Status : On going project.
It such a good apportunity working on site with experience peoples to investige an office building damaged by fire.
Project status: Completed.
Attending EERI 68th Annual Meeting : Beyond the Epicenter, Expanding Our Risk Perspective on April 5-8, 2016 in Parc 55 San Francisco, A Hilton Hotel,55 Cyril Magnin Street San Francisco, CA 94102.
Such a great meeting, gathering all the expertise in earthquake and seismologies around the world. Had an opportunity to visit Silicon Valley and San Fransisco Town with massive information about past earthquake.
Visiting :Pusat Penyelidikan Kebombaan (PUSPEK), Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, Nilai Malaysia.
Discussion on the fire testing methods and facilities for future collaboration and community engagement.

Synopsis
Structural fire engineering is not widely understood. This term is often confused with fire protection & safety engineering. “Fire Safety Engineering” can be simplified as a multi-disciplinary field to determine fire safety strategies for buildings subjected to fire conditions, where structural stability & control of fire spread are achieved by both the active and passive fire protection in the buildings. Whereas, “Structural Fire Engineering” relates to the understanding of specific aspects of fire protection by analyzing thermal effects of fires on the buildings and designing structural elements for sufficient load bearing resistance and to restraint spread of fire. Commonly, buildings are designed, and required that in the event of a fire, its stability will be maintained for a reasonable period of time (in hours), as stated in most building codes. However, recent demands in innovative & functional architectural designs challenge the traditional concepts of fire safety. Understanding of basic fire safety strategies for buildings are required to respond to such demands. The talk will be about “How do buildings burn?”. It will cover basics of fire science, fire safety engineering and structural engineering. This talk will provide critical knowledge on issues of structural fire safety & engineering, and the behavior of structures subject to fires.

The aim of this video is to introduce high school students to the engineering concept of road construction and to the reasons why problems might arise in road construction. Presentation of this concept is made more accessible to students by comparing road construction to the art of baking a layer cake.

Had an opportunity to visit the most important department in Malaysia, The Malaysian Meteorological Department to provide the right information to the public. It is charged with gathering and providing results for the public in Malaysia, that are obtained from data based on daily scientific observation and research into natural phenomena in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, seismology and volcanology, among other related scientific fields.
It is proven that the method that they used in gathering all the information is one of the world class technology.
