I just had the chance to take all of the prizes that had been awarded to me. Because of the unexpected situation of this pandemic, there has been a delay in the acceptance of these prizes. This is how things are now.
I’ll say it again: I didn’t expect all of these awards. This is a group effort, not just mine. This is a memory I’ll keep in this post.

Our new publication published. This time, we were successful in having our article published in the Journal of Information System and Technology Management (JISTM). The issue being discussed is data compatibility for BIM and GIS data in construction projects.
The journal is indexed by MyCite and counted in University’s MyRA II data. Below is the information about the journal published:
Manuscript Title: Building Information Modeling (BIM) And Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Compatibility For Construction Project Link: http://www.jistm.com/current.asm Pdf: http://www.jistm.com/PDF/JISTM-2021-24-12-26.pdf

I received an appreciation poster from the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia management. Fortunate to be one of the recipients of this competitive national fundamental research grant. The grant allocation received is 100% as requested without any reduction. The highest amount grant received in Geoscience domain.
Research grant title: “Formulating 3D Topological Rules for Strata Rights, Restrictions and Responsibilities (3R)”.
Awarded by: Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
Congratulations to Isa Muhammad Zumo from Adamawa, Nigeria for having his PhD defense on August 5th, 2021.
Held virtually, student is at his home country while the viva voce session is conducted according to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia local time. The session started at 2am (Nigeria time) and ended after a few hours. I believe it was a very long night for the student.
A bit of interesting info is that, at Adamawa state, it is recorded zero case for COVID-19 and there is no more rules to wear a face mask. Its an info that is quite different from what other countries are going through.
Anyway, congratulations once again to the student for passing his viva voce.
It was a pleasure to team up with other keynote speakers at the Global Summit of Civil, Architecture, and Environmental Engineering 2021 (GSCAEE2021).
Here are the speakers during my keynote session:
Title: Structural Fire Engineering: A Growing Need for Innovation. Cristian Maluk, The University of Queensland, Australia
Title: Deep learning and its Applications in Construction. Mehrdad Arashpour, Monash University, Australia
Title: Recent Trends of 3D City Modeling in Built Environment. Uznir Ujang, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia
Title:Innovative Strategies for Enhancing Fire Performance of High Performing Materials and Structural Systems. Venkatesh Kodur, Michigan State University, USA
Title: Hurricane Risk Mitigation in a Changing Climate. Ning Lin, Princeton University, USA
Congratulations and thank you to GSCAEE 2021 organizer The Scientist and MDPI Building Journal for inviting me as a keynote speaker at this summit. It is the most well-organized online conference to date.
I was informed next year, GSCAEE 2022 will take place in Copenhagen Denmark. If things go back to normal, I plan to be there. I am excited to visit my old house there again.
Congratulations to my PhD student Nurfairunnajiha for successfully presenting and defending her excellent PhD first defense (proposal) this morning. Thanks to the panel for the constructive comments given during the presentation just now.
Fairun is a fast track student, from Bachelor degree to PhD (without MPhil). This opportunity were given only to students with a good academic achievement during Bachelor degree.
