Collaboration between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and other partners from Malaysia and Japan creates an innovative Research-Business venture, recently. The framework was started since 2010 with a comprehensive partnership, especially between Nagoya Institute of Technology (NIT), General Constructor Business Association of Tono (GCBA) and Asset Constructor Inc. (ACI). UTM is proposed Entreprenual “tagline” as a New Academia effort to provide academician in reality of business environment, as to provide extra funding sources for their R&D and public merits. As UTM awarded the status of Research University by Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, the research direction is changed drastically to transform “Laboratory to Market” (L2M) structure, organized by Innovative and Commercialization Centre (ICC) of UTM. Therefore, the synergize strategy of this partnership also create another research works, especially in Civil Engineering field (e.g. Urban Heat Island (UHI), Alternative Cement-free Application and Resources of Waste for Combating the UHI).
