Per-phase equivalent circuit of a 3-phase induction motor

There are some confusion among the student. There is also no text books that summarise all the discussion. To help student, please refer to the figure. The first picture is a model of induction motor. This is good to simplify calculation but there are several assumption that sometimes could not be applied to represent the actual motor.

The IEEE recommended circuit is the one that can show the closest representation of the motor. Since the rotor side is changeable, therefore, usually Thevenin equivalent circuit is used to represent the stator.
