The conference was organised by Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University with the theme “Inspiring Students to Learn: Fostering Innovative Teaching and Learning of Mathematics, Science and Technology”. I delivered a talk on how to publish articles in international journals in the field of social sciences. As a former a Research Manager who was responsible in coordinating research and publication aspects among academic staffs and students, I had the opportunity to share insights about various aspects on publication such as types of publication, structures of an article, list of potential international good journals and many more. The second conference I attended was the 2nd International Conference on Mathematics and Mathematics Education 2018 (ICM2E) which was held in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia on 30th June 2018. The conference was organised by Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang. With the theme “The Future Trends of Research in Mathematics and Mathematics Education”, I delivered a keynote entitled “The Trend of Research in Mathematics Education in Malaysia”. The presentation covered specifically current issues on research in mathematics education such as Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Malaysia. It is hoped that my participation in these conferences can further strengthen cooperation between UTM and Indonesian universities.
