Flavors of Success – A BBQ Night with the Dream Team
Had an amazing BBQ night with my wonderful postdoctoral, PhD, and MPhil students at Sireh Park, right by the lake. We enjoyed delicious BBQ and skewers, sipped on chai from Usman, savored the fantastic sauce from Husna, indulged in viral drinks by Farah, and were treated to expert grilling by Nevil and Tariq.
It was also our first research lab outdoor activity with our newly registered MPhil student, Wiliyan Ricky Abdullah. Exciting times ahead!
And a warm welcome to Dr. Khaled Almansi as well, our new postdoctoral staff from Palestine, who just arrived today and BBQ night is his first activity with us. Looking forward to a couple of years of research experiments in 3D City Modelling and GIS with him.
I did not know that my students are talented in F&B business as well. Thank you for making this night fantastic #TeamWork #ResearchNight #BBQFun
Fun times at Usman’s place!
Today, we swapped lab coats for casual wear and enjoyed a fantastic hi-tea courtesy of our very own PhD student, Usman! Great food, amazing chai, and even better company – what more could you ask for on a Friday evening?
Kudos to Usman for being the perfect host and bringing our lab family together outside of work. These moments make research life sweeter!

Proud Mentor Moment!
I’m delighted to share that Sarah Syafiqah Nordin, my talented student, has just completed her thesis and graduated with flying colors!
Sarah’s research is a game-changer – the first in 26 years of GIS in UTM, to combine digital and physical GIS into a single 3D platform.
Let’s celebrate Sarah’s remarkable achievement and her promising future in the field of Geographic Information Science! #GIS #Thesis #Graduation #Innovation
Intern Program: Stellar Progress Wins Acclaim!
Our currently interning students with our research group, had the honor of presenting their progress to their internship coordinator/lecturer. Delighted to report that the coordinator’s feedback was nothing short of glowing, highlighting the remarkable work our interns are contributing.
These moments truly underscore the immense potential and promising futures our students possess. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to support and empower the next generation of aspiring researchers! #InternshipSuccess #FutureLeaders #ResearchExcellence
Proud Moment!
Heartfelt congratulations to my PhD student, Nurfairunnajiha Ridzuan, for acing her UTM PhD viva voce today with minor corrections! Her exceptional work has resulted in an impressive 10 publications and securing 2 copyrights.
She is part of the fast track student program, transitioning directly from BSc to PhD.
Well done, Fairun!
