Penyelidik yang dihormati.
Nexus Young Researcher (NYR) adalah satu bentuk program baru untuk pelajar pasca siswazah yang terbuka kepada seluruh warganegara Malaysia yang sedang atau akan mengikuti pengajian di peringkat Sarjana atau Doktor Falsafah secara sepenuh masa di UTM. Program ini merupakan salah satu agenda JTNCPI untuk mencapai matlamat bagi menghasilkan saintis-saintis muda / penyelidik yang berani menyahut cabaran serta menghasilkan cendekiawan yang bertaraf dunia.
Program ini adalah diintegrasikan dengan geran penyelidikan UTM Encouragement Research (UTMER) dan UTM Fundamental Research UTMFR 2023 yang telah diumumkan pada 16 Julai 2023.
Syarat permohonan:
1) Dibuka kepada warganegara Malaysia sahaja.
2) Berumur tidak melebihi 40 tahun untuk calon Sarjana dan PhD semasa permohonan.
3) Tidak menerima apa-apa biasiswa atau bantuan kewangan pengajian dari mana-mana syarikat, yayasan, agensi kerajaan atau badan penaja.
4) Dibuka untuk pelajar yang tidak bekerja
5) Dibenarkan untuk pelajar fast-track.
6) Dibuka kepada pelajar sepenuh masa sahaja.
7) Dibuka untuk pelajar baru. Walaubagaimanapun, jika bersesuaian dengan geran dan keperluan projek UTMER/UTMFR pelajar pada semester 1 atau 2 boleh juga memohon.

Tempoh pembiayaan:
Sarjana: 2 tahun
PhD : 3 tahun
Peruntukan pembiayaan:
Sarjana: Elaun RM1500/bulan, dan yuran RM12,390 untuk 4 semeter.
PhD: Elaun RM1800/bulan dan yuran 18,350 untuk 6 semester.
Output program:
Sarjana : 1 jurnal WOS
PhD 2 jurnal WOS
Kaedah permohonan:
Calon perlu mengisi LINK / QR code yang diberikan sebelum 24 Ogos 2023 jam 5.00 petang.
Permohonan yang lewat dari tarikh dan masa yang ditetapkan tidak akan diproses
Keputusan akan dibentangkan dan akan diperakukan oleh Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Geran Penyelidikan (JKPGP).
Keputusan yang diumumkan adalah MUKTAMAD.

HOW TO USE SPSS

Dear Learners,
Some basic statistical jargons that you should be familiar at the beginning of any analysis are listed below:
Distinguish between population and sample
• A population is the entire group that you want to draw conclusions about. A sample is the specific group that you will collect data from.
• Your sample is the group of individuals who participate in your study, and your population is the broader group of people to whom your results will apply.
Descriptive statistics versus inferential statistics
• Descriptive statistics summarize the characteristics of a data set. Inferential statistics allow you to test a hypothesis or assess whether your data is generalizable to the broader population.
Qualitative variable versus Quantitative variable
• Data collected about a numeric variable will always be quantitative. Example age, income
• Data collected about a categorical variable will always be qualitative. Example gender (male and female), location (urban and rural)
Measures of Central Tendency
In statistics, “measures of central tendency” refer to statistical measures that aim to describe the center or value of a data set. These measures provide a summary of the data by focusing on its central location or average value. The three most common measures of central tendency are the mean, median, and mode.
Measures of Dispersion
In statistics, “measures of dispersion” refer to statistical measures that quantify the spread or variability of a data set. While measures of central tendency (such as mean, median, and mode) provide information about the central location of the data, measures of dispersion provide insights into how the data points are spread out or scattered around the central value. The most common measures of dispersion are range, inter-quartile range, variance, and standard deviation.
