UNDERGRADUATE PROJECT I (2 CREDIT – PREREQUISITE TO PSM II)

Project-based : This type of project is based on developing an application, software or embedded systems. The undertaken project must include programming elements with appropriate users’s complexity and meets PSM scope. This type of project gives the students an opportunity to conduct exercise as a project developer in the area of computer graphics, augmented/virtual reality, computer vision, image/speech processing, computer games, simulation, UI and UX HCI, and multimedia mobile application embedded system. Examples of applications that have been developed in this area are mobile application, mobile games, console Xbox/PS4 games, AR/VR application, AR/VR environment and simulation, tracking sensor motion capture, tracking sensor AR feature-based/GPS/gyro-meter/markerless/motion-based tracking algorithm, handheld application.

Research-based: This type of project is based on a research application that includes data analysis, comparative studies or enhancement of techniques or algorithms. Similar to project-based, programming elements must be included in the research project. It also emphasizes on analysis as well as technical writing of the report – critical analysis on the previous works and literature reviews must be strong support the statement and hypothesis. Students are expected to read a few technical papers and able to digest with the help from the appointed supervisors. This type of project aims at grooming the students with research skills in the area of software engineering, computer graphic and multimedia software. It is suitable for students who are interested in Research and Development (R&D) careers such as academic professionals and researchers.

a) Supervisor (60%)
