FSSH Adjunct Professor Lecture Series 10 ?

Prof. Dr. Keith S. Taber | Seven Slogans for Constructivist Teachers: Key Ideas for Teaching in accordance with Learning Theory

Synopsis
For some decades constructivism has been seen as a key, research-based, perspective on learning that should inform teaching at all levels. This lecture discusses the nature of teaching that is consistent with our understanding of learning processes – in particular the incremental, interpretive, and so iterative, nature of conceptual learning, and the dynamic nature of memory. ‘Constructivist teaching’ will be described in terms of a small number of key ideas that will be represented in a set of slogans or maxims for guiding teaching. These ideas will be explained in terms of how they relate to the constructivist perspective on learning, and how they can be applied in practice by teachers and lecturers. So wait no more, do book your calendar and join our session live on Facebook and Youtube of FSSH!
