Exotic lomak cili api

This is our 2nd trip to Restoran Nelayan on Jalan Zaaba, Seremban. To those who never ever had  any taste of masak lomak negeri style, have a visit here. You will find a variety of masak lemak cili api and a wide range of ulam-ulaman and sambal belacan, tempoyak and cencalok. Yummm…….

A range of ulams

All the sambal belacans and cencaloks and tempoyaks

My kids love the ‘siput’ and ‘otak’ is my hb’s favourite

See the ‘landak’ meat???

Tembusu is the inner perut…(I dont know which part of perut actually, but my hb loves this)

This is really expensive….cendawan kukur (1kg costs rm100)

Anga & Ain settled for this

That’s hb’s choice

That’s mine

This restaurant is unique as this is the one that serves EXOTIC masak lomak cili api dishes ranging from porcupine meat (landak), venison meat (rusa) and other exotic dishes. I am not brave enough to try these exotics, so I only settled for Grilled beef masak lomak (daging salai). Hubby paid RM80 for a lunch for 6 adults.

An unexpected turn of event

My ODC which we just overhauled its engine went overheated in Bandar Seri Putra in Bangi. We were on our way to a short trip to Cameron and all our plans went haywire. Because it was my sister’s first trip to Cameron Highland, I decided to proceed with this holiday. Well, didn’t want to ruin her excitement. Zahidee, my nephew came to our rescue. He helped us out with our ODC and let us used his Wish. We were on our way up when we received a BBM message saying that the ODC has been towed by Evo’s sister company in Gemas.

Road trip to CH was fine. It was almost 12 midnight when we finally reached Greenhill Apartments.

2 days in Cameron Highland, time to head home. But then again, our ODC was still at Evo Gemas.

After sending Nasri off in UIA, we had a good ride via Plusliner coach. When was the last time I took a ride on a bus??? Hmmm…let’s see, can’t remember. It must have been years….

Get your promotion ticket!

Legoland will be opening in Johor soon, and get your promotional tickets at a discounted price before 16th April 2012! (I am not a spokeperson for Legoland…just doing this for free!!!) Check out Legoland’s map!
With Legoland located right here in the heart of Johor, we longer need to cross the border to get to the Universal Studio. I am pretty sure the rides and games are similar to those in USS but with Legos themes. I guess the rides would be less extreme compared to other theme parks.

The first Legoland was opened in 1968 near Billund, Denmark. Other parks are found all around the world, in California, Windsor, Florida while Legoland Nusajaya will be the first theme park of its kind open in Asia.

Well, they have started selling tickets to enter the theme park at a discounted rate! Well you can always buy your tickets now, and plan your holidays later…..Do check out the rates at Legoland Website

I am thrilled…the next time you come visiting us, at least I know where to take you….
Why don’t you get a feel of Legoland by watching this video?

End of school holiday tour

We planned a trip to take a cruise on Chris Jolly by boat on fine Sunday morning at Lake Taupo. This plan was supposed to mark the end of the school holiday. Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled as the water in the lake was too high and the boat crew refused to take us on the trip for safety reason.
Because everyone in the group had already made countless trips to the Huka Falls, the Honey Hives, The Prawn Park and did all the usual stuff tourists normally did in Taupo, we decided to do something different.
So we made an ad-hoc plan which covered a trip to Ararapids Dam, the Taupo Bungy Jump, the kids’ playground, the Best Kebab and finally Mc donalds.
Here are some shots from our trip.

This is Ararapids Dam. Water is released from this dam into Huka FallsWater from the Waikato River
While enjoying the view, we filled up our starving tummies
The kids with their hot mamas & papas taking a train ride

For lunch, we stopped at the Turkish Kebab store for some yummy lunch
Hot mamas waiting for their orders

This is one great activity, but we just people watched. No one dared to make this one jump.

Our final stopover was the Mc Donalds. While the kids played, the adults had an afternoon snack in the plane.

The packed kebab from the Best Kebab….devoured it at Mc Donalds
Along treated us with Mocha coffee…Thanks son!

Bali Holidays with hubby

In April 2010, I attended a conference in Sanur Beach Hotel Bali, and took the opportunity to spend some quiet vacation with my hubby. Bali is really a place worth visiting again, and after our 4 days in Bali, we decided to take the kids over for our next holidays.

We landed at KLIA airport on the morning of the 26th. The flight from Auckland was quite tiring as we had to transit for 6 hours in Melbourne Airport. But I enjoyed the flight with Emirates though. It’s a lot better in service, food & in flight entertainment compared to our very own MAS.

As soon as we arrived at BALI airport, we were picked up by Sastra, this chap I befriended from Facebook. He took us (Me, hubby & Khairi whom we met in KLIA) around Kuta, Sanur & some other popular areas before taking us to our Sri Phala & Spa resort.

We were first put in a Superior room, which I found it to be rather nice, quiet and charming…enough for my liking. After breakfast the next day, our room was upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa…with a 4 poster bed to my liking of course….and also an open air washroom…There were 2 single beds in the so called attic, and a king size bed with a lounge area on the first floor. I love everything about this resort, the friendly staff, the serene beauty of everything around it…

Well, no wonder people keep coming back to Bali. It’s really a charming place. We didnt actually head to the beach as Bali itself, with its culture, scenery, people are unique.

A Sunday morning in cambridge

I love spending my Sunday mornings (2nd Sunday of the month that is..) at Cambridge Trash Market. It reminds me of the good old days when I did my undergrad in Winnipeg, spending my Sunday mornings hunting for bargain goods. Every time I ask hubby to tag me along, he’d say…”dah 10 kali pi tapi tak beli apa jugak!!” or he’d say “apa aje yg nak tengok…”. Well, it’s not a matter of what to buy, but I just love people watching…& sometimes I could find stuff that I like…like the china and novels which I have not even started reading. I bought heaps of novels, and keeping them for my pleasure reading when I am back home.

AUTUMN in NZ

Great beauty during Autumn…

Autumn is the best season of the year. the rustic colours of the beauty of the trees would definitely charm you.

Last Autumn, I took some shots of the area near the Boundary Mosque. This year, we headed to the Taitoa Arboretum to get shots of the falling leaves. While we were busy shooting, hubby was busy fishing in Raglan. I am contented as long as he finds something that he enjoys.

I’s Autumn Again
Leaves whisper the sound of our past
In loss they pay a descent
To the ground we fall

It’s autumn again
Our song is sung by the wind
Echoes of loss and grief
Through chilled air we wade

It’s autumn again
The waters grow as cold as our hearts
We are alike – crusted in ice
In ourselves we freeze

It’s autumn again
Flowers vanish from our sadness
Our beauty grows weak
Covered in frost we wither

It’s autumn again
The rain falls like our tears
Can’t dry our eyes
From the sky we descend

It’s autumn again
The sun shines then fails like us
Our sight becomes a wintry gray
Lost in darkness we will fade

It’s autumn again
