1 Day Hands-on Workshop on Introduction to Cyber-Physical Systems

The explosive growth of the “Internet of Things” is changing our world and the vast amount of IoT components allows engineers to innovate new designs and products at home and industry. In this workshop, you will learn the importance of IoT in society, the current components of typical IoT devices and trends for the future. IoT design considerations, physical and cyber security, constraints and interfacing between the physical world and IoT device will also be covered.

Please do not miss this rare opportunity to learn to design and create IoT solution on Raspberry Pi platform. This workshop will cover a hands-on approach in configuring IoT sensors, gateway and cloud in a lab-setting environment.

Date:                19 July 2017, Wednesday (8:30am – 5:00pm)

Venue:             General Lab, Level 4, UTM AIS, Menara Razak

Fees:                Early Bird: RM200 (Deadline 13 July 2017)
Normal Registration: RM250 (Deadline 17 July 2017)

Instructors:       Dr. Royan Ong and Mr Adam Rizal Azwar

WHY ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP:

The workshop is highly interactive with short presentations in an all-day lab setting with lots of time for experimenting.

Participants would be introduced to embedded systems programming using C, embedded Linux system configuration and programming and IoT gateway to cloud interfacing using sockets.

LEARN HOW TO:

·      Define the term “Cyber-Physical Systems” and “Internet of Things”
·      Programme embedded systems using C for sensor side
·      Configure and write a Linux system codes for IoT gateway
·      Use sockets to transfer data between IoT gateway and the cloud
·      Perform data analytic on the cloud side
