Today was a hectic day. Since my 2-hours lecture from previous week had to be cancelled to make way for FBME innovation day, we had a replacement class from 9AM. After an hour and a half, I had to rush to V01 for Facility Meeting, though I only sat there for about half an hour since it ended early. Then from 1-2PM (though it ended by 1:30PM) , interviewing the 4th year students to look for potential candidate for master project. No hit, but at least they got the experience from the interview. & really hope some would polish up on their English 🙂
At 2PM, Akmal & I along with Dr Saleh had a meeting with our collaborator from the GUP grant. Very fruitful discussion! It’s not easy to be honest, to help people with your product (we’re talking about health juice here) when there’s so many restrictions get it certified by KKM and branded HALAL. Apparently one has to have a specific premise when producing your product in order to get it certified. Marketing is another story; it’s not hard to market but consumers are also getting “wiser”. “Wiser” as in some of them only wants proof of certification of a product without knowing that certain product especially categorized as drinks need no KKM certification. Well, since it’s harder to educate the public, a lot of the small entrepreneur have to invest a lot of money to certify their product for a better market. Note to self-for future planning, maybe. Well, since we forgot to take group pictures, here’s a pic of our collaborator, En Tahrul & Pn Aszniza; the husband & wife producer of Haq Juice (made only from natural ingredients, without added preservatives nor sugar)
