PPMU open day finally comes last Thursday. Students & staff from various PTJ came to ask around on lab equipment, PPE, chemical handling + disposal, lab services, short lectures on certain topics and visiting booths from all units from UIRL + CMU and suppliers.
Early birds also received RM5 food voucher from the food truck. Congrats to the CMU team for winning the best booth 🙂
On October 2nd, most staff from UIRL along with me (as Quality Manager) went for a visit to 2 industrial lab who have obtained ISO certification for their services. Our first visit was to Pyrometric (now under Trescal) in Kempas and the secondth was to SIRIM, our next door neighbor. Lots of useful info and tips from these 2 places on obtaining ISO certification that would be useful for UIRL to be a recognized entity for lab services.
A rather late entry but 2nd ICBME 2019 was held in Bali from April 11-12th 2019. First time ever, bringing 4 students along and presenting all current research at the conference! Bravo all my students!
In actual, I played “mother” to 2 other students too 🙂
