It is a bless to stay in the Southern part of Peninsula as it gives me unlimited opportunities to explore and visit our nearest neighbors in the Malay Archipelagos, namely Singapore and Indonesia. As everyone might know, Indonesia is the world largest island country. Trust me, it would not be called as such if it is not for a whole lot of islands it possesses. With more than 17,000 islands, definitely to those who love nature will be amazed by what is in store for them. A beautiful paradise on earth. A bountiful eye candy nature galore amidst the different shades of blue sea.
Within the thousands of islands, there is a tiny island located in the Province of Riau Islands. The island is called Pulau Penyengat. It keeps a romantic love story of a Sultan who granted the island to his consort Engku Puteri as a mahr (dowry). Pulau Penyengat is a witness to the great Malay Civilization in the 18th & 19th century. It was an administration centre of the Johor Riau Lingga Sultanate before the Dutch dethroned the last Sultan.
