How does UTM ensure its staff to be well-aware about non-visible disabilities among students that need their assistance?
Example: Students who have learning difficulties like dyslexia, dysgraphia, Asperger’s syndrome and such who we assume to be well-adjusted in learning and yet they might face difficulties that unknown to us. They might have difficulty to take long hours examination in an exam hall with other students. Due to sensory sensitivity, such students might have difficulty to stay focused for long duration and feel agitated when they are in crowd.
– How to encourage such students to let us know about their challenges?
– How to ensure that we are equipped with appropriate knowledge to help them including administration staff such as in SRAD and such who are also might have to deal with such students on regular basis like the academicians who teach/supervise them?
