This is our favourite fruit in NZ, the feijoas…I guess it comes from the same family of the Malaysian guava…The tissue is cream in colour, and the feijoa seeds are edible and embedded in a jellylike center.
Feijoas, the pineapple guava

How do you eat feijoas??
Cut your fruit into halves and scoop out the tissue with a spoon. I used to make smoothies with feijoas or it’s even great if you eat them with frozen yoghurt….But of late, I just enjoy the fruit as it is, as there’s limited supply. We have never bought our feijoas as they grow in abundance in many homes.
