Special Session Code: me35g

Scope and Goals: The special session “Designing and Managing the Communication in Intelligent Transportation Systems” proposes the exploration of the design and the management of the data communication network supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems. Since Intelligent Transportations Systems are typically critical mission systems, and the decision making is highly dependent upon the data collected from the network, properly designing and managing the communication network is an essential step before deploying any ITS application. Otherwise, there is reduced confidence in the availability and robustness of the ITS system.
The topics of interest have been carefully selected in order to allow a comprehensive look into the most significant issues on Developing the Communication in Intelligent Transportation Systems. For example, a thorough comprehension of the urban and rural mobility is certainly a crucial aspect for the development of ITS communication. An in-depth understanding of urban and rural mobility enables us to design, develop evaluate and validate more realistic ITS models in terms of algorithms, analytic formulations, optimization models, and probabilistic approaches.
More sophisticated ITS Models support the development of better strategies for Planning & Managing the Communication in intelligent Transportation Systems. Furthermore, better ITS Models combined with a better understanding of the role played by mobile networks may even allow new insights on the application of the Internet of Things, Cloud-based services, and Software Defined Networks (SDNs), allowing the development of more sophisticated services and applications. The management aspects of SDN, IoTs and clouds are certainly of current interest and crucially important in the development and wide deployment of these networks. Their adoption in ITS systems is also vitally important for their wider applicability and real deployment.
Furthermore, the use of social networking and crowd sourcing strategies may also represent a valuable source of management information for Intelligent Transportation Systems. Handling large amounts of data from mobile devices in order to infer interesting knowledge and/or patterns may provide a turning point in terms of the ITS technology, and several research projects are investigating the benefits and potential of this collaborative crowd sourcing based approach, in general.
Topics of Interest:
* Network Management & Communication in ITS
* Vehicular Networks
* Experience Reports & Experimental Testbeds
* Privacy, Authentication, Reputation for ITS
* Clouds, SDN
* Traffic prediction and mobility models
* Social Networks for ITS
* Algorithms, optimization models, and probabilistic approaches
* Green ITS & Economic issues
* Legal and regulative issues

Ramadhan yang dinantikan

cropped-ramadan

Kenapa kita perlu lihat anak bulan? Hilal-ramadhan

  8. Wujudkan Bi’ah – suasana Ramadhan. Ajak anak-anak baca Quran, hadith dan solat berjemaah.
  9. Mulakan bertahajjud sebelum Ramadhan.
  10. Maafkan orang.
  11. Kengkang nafsu.
  12. Hidupkan malam-malam Ramadhan.
  13. Cari lailatul qadar dari Ramadhan yang pertama.
  14. Doa agar dapat menunaikan haji.

Perancangan menyambut Ramadhan:

Erti Ramadhan:

Apabila berpuasa kita berasa panas dalaman dan luaran.

Panas dalaman inilah yang merisaukan.  Manusia sentiasa dipengaruhi syaita dan nafsu.  Selepas beseru kepada kebenaran, kita perlu terus bersabar.  Bila dalaman kita panas, kita senang buat dosa dan senang melenting.

Persediaan menyambut Ramadhan dengan Al Quran:

al-quran-dibuka-cahaya-sendu

  4. Allah menyuruh syurga untuk bersiap menerima tetamu-tetamunya.
  5. Upah Ramadhan pada malam terakhir.

Lailatul Qadar:

  1.  Doa untuk bertemu lailatul qadar untuk beribadah.
  2. Minta untuk setahun akan datang.
  3. Sujud syukur dalam solat.

Kesan Ramadhan:

  1.  Ahli syurga
  2. Pertahankan aqidah
  3. Menjadi orang yang cintakan Rasul
  4. Cinta saudara-saudara kita
  5. Banyak berinfak
  6. Hebat akhlaknya
  7. Hebat ibadahnya
  8. Hebat berjuang
  9. Meningkatkan amalan

Allahu a’lam

Building Information Modelling Visit to Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia

Global Outreach Programme themed Building Information Modeling Exploration Journey 2016 (GOP BIMEJ ’16) to Perth, Australia was carried out on the 3rd April till 8th April 2016. The programme was organized by a group of eight Bachelor in Quantity Surveying students and one Msc. in Construction Contract Management student from the Department of Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Built Environment, accompanied by Dr Kherun Nita Ali and Assoc. Prof. Dr Nur Emma Mustaffa.  It was aimed to acquire knowledge on Building Information Modeling (BIM) from research centres in Curtin University, namely, the Australasian Joint Research Centre for BIM and Curtin HIVE (Hub for Immersive Visualization and eResearch).  Since Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has established our own BIM Research Centre, the knowledge gained from this program could contribute to the development of the centre by setting Curtin University as the role model for success.  The program will lead us to future collaboration with Curtin University such as exchange student program, joint research, and educational visits to other universities.  Improvement could be seen in the students’ leadership, confidence level and communication skills during the open discussion with Curtin University’s academic staff and students. The students were very attentive and analytical in directing questions during the participation in existing classes and visit to the research centres. The program was a huge success in creating more analytical, knowledgeable and broad-minded students.
