Dear IEEE Members,

 

IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Malaysia Chapter is pleased to inform you that the 2017 Women in Circuit and Systems (WiCAS2017) will be organized as follows:

 

Date:  October, 31st 2017

Venue:  Pullman Kuala Lumpur Hotel, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA.

 

This Women in Circuits and Systems (WiCAS) event is part of 2017 IEEE CASS Outreach Initiative and it will be held in conjunction with our conference IEEE PrimeAsia2017 which will be held on 1-2 November 2017 at the same venue. The theme is Engineering a Successful Career for Women: Making a Difference of the Future. The aim of this event is to provide an environment for early-career-stage researchers where they can learn about other research activities in the area of circuits and systems, interact with their peers and gain exposure from the internationally renowned audience of researchers and developers. It is also to encourage interaction between the participants of the event and established researchers from academia and industry.

MJIIT Cemerlang di Pertandingan High School Junior Robotic@World Robot Summit (WRS)

 

Tokyo, Japan 6 Ogos 2017 – Penekanan teras strategik di universiti ditumpukan dalam konteks memanfaatkan kepakaran yang ada di universiti untuk kebaikan komuniti yang lebih besar.  Bukan sekadar teori dan pembelajaran, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur (UTMKL) melalui Pusat Jaringan Komuniti dan Industri (CCIN) dan Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) dengan kerjasama Drabot telah menubuhkan pasukan pelajar sekolah di bawah 18 tahun untuk mewakili Malaysia bagi menyertai pertandingan percubaan  High School Junior Robotic @ World Robot Summit (WRS) di Tamagawa Academy & University, Jepun pada 2 – 6 Ogos 2017 yang lalu.

WRS akan diadakan sempena Sukan Olimpik di Tokyo, Jepun pada 2020, oleh itu pihak WRS akan mengadakan pertandingan percubaan (trial competition) setiap tahun sehingga 2020. Gerak kerja pencarian bakat – bakat muda untuk menubuhkan pasukan robotik yang terdiri daripada pelajar sekolah menengah telah dilakukan oleh UTMKL sejak awal Jun 2017 dibawah selian Dr. Mohd Azizi Abdul Rahman pensyarah kanan MJIIT. Hasilnya satu pertandingan tertutup telah berlangsung pada 7 Julai 2017 bertempat di UTMKL bagi memilih 4 pelajar terbaik yang akan mewakili Malaysia ke pertandingan percubaan tersebut . Sekolah-sekolah yang telah disenarai pendekkan bagi menyertai pertandingan pemilihan tersebut terdiri daripada SMK Padang tembak, SMK Aminudin Baki, SMK Seri Gombak dan St. John’s Institution. Pelajar yang terpilih adalah seperti senarai nama berikut :

1) Hafiz bin Maznan, 16 tahun dari SMK Padang Tembak
2) Muhammad Hariz bin Mohamad Tarmidzi, 14 tahun dari SMK Aminuddin Baki
3) Kishan Kumar V. Siva Kumar, 16 tahun dari St. John Institution
4) Danial Faiz bin Mokhtar, 16 tahun dari SMK Padang Tembak

Pada kali ini terdapat 10 pasukan dari seluruh dunia mengambil bahagian dalam pertandingan tersebut iaitu Tamagawa Academy(Japan), Sagami Women’s University Junior & Senior High School (Japan), Kanagawa University High School (Japan), Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama (Japan) Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Vietnam), Malaysia Japan International Institute of Technology (Malaysia), Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (Thailand), Merrimac State High School (Australia), Metis Montessori Lyceum (Netherlands) dan Independent Team (USA).

Penyertaan kali pertama ini tidak menghampakan apabila wakil Malaysia telah berjaya mendapat tempat kedua untuk ketegori Skill Challenge di Junior Category, School Robot Challenge, Trial Competition 2017 sempena World Robot Summit di Tokyo, Jepun. Keputusan penuh pertandingan adalah seperti berikut :

CCIN mengucapkan setinggi – tinggi TAHNIAH kepada rakan-rakan komuniti dan semua yang terlibat  diatas segala kerja keras bagi merealisasikan pencapaian ini. WORLD ROBOT SUMMIT 2017 – Junior Trial

Sangat berbangga kerana hari ini wakil Malaysia berjaya mendapat tempat kedua untuk ketegori Skill Challenge di Junior Category, School Robot Challenge, Trial Competition 2017 sempena World Robot Summit di Tokyo, Jepun.

Mereka terdiri daripada :-
