TOP RESEARCH SCIENTISTS MALAYSIA (TRSM) 2018:

CALL FOR INPUT OF DATA INTO TRSM DATABASE

The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) through the Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) initiative aims to identify and recognize the leading research scientists who are active in research and development (R&D) in Malaysia, acknowledge their contribution and showcase them as experts in their respective research areas through the TRSM database. The Top Research Scientists Malaysia can be role models of excellence, mentors to the next generation and leaders to forge the STI agenda of the nation.

The TRSM initiative has two major phases as follows:

1)      Identify a pool of leading Malaysian researchers across all areas such as fundamental research, applied research, social science research and industry research experts based on an objective and standardized selection criteria

2)      Disseminate the profile of the Top Research Scientists Malaysia through the TRSM database to:

• serve as a centralized point of reference for stakeholders to identify national R&D priority areas as well as human capital that can lead the priority areas
• serve as a resource for the international scientific community, in particular academia, industries and international STI organisations that wish to seek top notch STI expertise in Malaysia for knowledge exchange, networking and linkages

ASM also encourages young scientists to input their data into the TRSM database. It is hoped that the data captured in the TRSM database would be beneficial for stakeholders to measure the overall R&D capacity of the country especially in terms of human capital in STI.

To date, a total of 133 research scientists from institutions of higher learning (IHLs) and research institutes (RIs) have been recognized as Top Research Scientists Malaysia based on their outstanding research achievement and performance.

In relation to this, ASM wishes to invite outstanding researchers and young scientists from your institution to participate in this TRSM initiative and populate the database through their input of data at www.mytopscientists.org by 31 March 2018.

Enclosed herewith are the TRSM poster, brochure and summary guidelines of TRSM application for reference.

Perkara diatas adalah dirujuk,

Dimaklumkan bahawa phak Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) telah membuat pemakluman berkaitan caruman syer pekerja kembali kepada 11% bagi staf yang memilih opsyen caruman 8% mulai penggajian Mac 2016 seperti yang telah ditaklimatkan pada 22 Februari 2016 yang lalu. Berikut adalah pemakluman yang dikemukakan oleh Jabatan Hal Ehwal Korporat, KWSP :

Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) memaklumkan bahawa kadar berkanun untuk caruman syer pekerja yang diturunkan kepada lapan (8) peratus bermula upah/gaji Mac 2016 (caruman April 2016) akan tamat pada upah/gaji bulan Disember 2017 (caruman Januari 2018). Pengurangan kadar ini adalah berikutan pengumuman yang dibuat oleh Kerajaan pada 2016 semasa pembentangan Semakan Semula Bajet 2016 oleh YAB Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak. 

Berkuatkuasa untuk upah/gaji Januari 2018 (caruman Februari 2018), kadar berkanun untuk caruman syer pekerja akan kembali ke kadar asal 11% untuk pekerja yang belum mencapai umur 60 tahun dan 5.5 peratus untuk pekerja berumur 60 tahun ke atas.

Majikan perlu memastikan amaun caruman yang betul dipotong daripada upah/gaji pekerja dan diremitkan kepada KWSP berdasarkan kadar caruman yang baharu ini. Kadar caruman terkini bagi syer pekerja dan majikan boleh dirujuk di Jadual Ketiga, Akta KWSP 1991.

Ahli yang ingin mencarum melebihi kadar berkanun 11 peratus atau 5.5 peratus boleh mengemukakan Borang KWSP 17A (AHL) atau Borang KWSP 17AA (AHL).

Untuk maklumat lanjut, ahli dan majikan boleh merujuk laman web KWSP di www.kwsp.gov.my atau hubungi Pusat Pengurusan Perhubungan KWSP di 03-8922 6000, atau kunjungi mana-mana cawangan KWSP terdekat.

Sehubungan itu, bagi staf yang telah memilih opsyen pelarasan kadar caruman yang dibuat pada Mac 2016 kepada 8% akan kembali kepada kadar caruman asal iaitu sebanyak 11% mulai penggajian Januari 2018. Sekiranya terdapat sebarang pertanyaan, mohon berhubung dengan pihak BSM dan Pejabat Bendahari UTM.
