“Networking Visit #2” to University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore.
A very impressive university which focuses more on producing high quality undergraduates. The time spent here was really packed and well spent. We had a meeting with the Vice Chancellor at the Vice Chancellor office. He was indeed a very nice and humble person.
Subsequently we toured the lab in the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology. All labs were properly managed and well kept as we can see. After that we met with a class full of MSc students and we did a presentation on UTM, our faculty FCEE and our research group. We can see that a lot of these students are eager to know more and interested to pursue their studies (Ph.D) in UTM. From our past experiences supervising, Pakistan students are very well known to be very dedicated and hardworking.
The activity followed with having a lunch meeting with the member of the institute. On average the academic staffs are quite young and energetic, and being lead by a fatherly dean, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Feroze and the director, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan Durrani.

Kami melawat Institut of Chemical Engineering and Technology, UET, Lahore. Barisan tenaga akademiknya secara purata muda, bertenaga dan bersemangat. Tetapi sebelum sempat berdiskusi panjang, kami dijemput berjumpa Naib cancelor di Pejabat Naib Cancelor UET. Baik, mesra dan segak orangnya, Prof Fazal Ahmad Khalid.
Selepas itu kita di bawa melawat Open House and Career Day, di mana pelajar tahun akhir mempersembahkan plant design dan penyelidikan mereka dalam bentuk poster. Wakil industri turut serta dalam acara tersebut.
Kemudian kami dibawa melawat makmal dan fasiliti di sekitar Institut tersebut. Banyak juga perkara menarik yang kami pelajari dari lawatan makmal tersebut, InsyaAllah ada yang boleh dipraktikkan di UTM.
Setelah itu kami dibawa ke sebuah bilik besar penuh dengan pelajar post graduate khasnya MSc, untuk kami membuat presentation. Saya membentang secara ringkas tentang UTM dan Fakulti.
