Day 233 Task – Second Day OBE Workshop with UNS

It’s Awal Muharram today, an official off day for all of us, but yet we are all working. We’re still working on the 2-days OBE workshop (Info on the first day can be found here). It was the second day of our fully online OBE workshop and this time it was held in one of the meeting rooms Cancellory Building, UTM. All of us, the CEE and UTM team gathered together in the meeting room, casually but conducted the workshop professionally.

The session was successfully completed, Alhamdulillah. We felt sense of satisfaction because we all knew that it was’n easy to conduct such online workshop. Handling a physical workshop is what we are used to do and it is easier. But the responses and feedback from UNS participants were amazing. They were happy with the course and i heard there will be a second part of training with them soon. We’ll do our best, insyaAllah.

Here is one of the 1 minute reflection by one of the participant:

good for practice
Preparing CLO can be tricky and challenging
8
learn more in P and A domains and construct CLO properly
i learned how to formulate CLO according to SMART and ABCD parameters. It is not new, but still we misunderstood some concept.
saya mengerti penggunaan ABCD pada CLO
it’s never easy to develop CLO.. a long discussion should be done to agreed something.
Although we’re used to make this course outline, but to state it in English need more effort
I can identify CLO with ABCD
I knew A B C D
Identify the CLO

Berikut adalah tugasan utk semakan PLO (kalau dah beri oral feedback boleh catit dgn ringkas) dan CLO:
1. Civil Eng: Prof Shahrin dan Dr Farah
2. Mechanical: Dr Nurul & Dr Syed
3. IT: Dr Noraini dan Dr Yana
4. Chemistry: Dr Zaki dan Prof Fatin
5. Ekonomi: Dr Mahyuddin dan Dr Yudariah

Day 225 Task – OBE Workship Series Meeting

We will be conducting the workshop for Fakulti Pendidikan Teknik, which has 3 Depts. There are 25 participants. This faculty produce graduates who will teach in vocational and technical schools/colleges. For that, we have a kicked-start meeting today at 5pm after work. Why the meeting started at 5pm? Because of our busy schedule.

Honestly, I am not the expert for this but I am learning. My role in this workshop is as one of the facilitators.

European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study attainment and performance of students of higher education across the European Union and other collaborating European countries. For successfully completed studies, ECTS credits are awarded. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS-credits that are equivalent to 1500–1800 hours of study in all countries irrespective of standard or qualification type and is used to facilitate transfer and progression throughout the Union.

The awesome and great Dr. Wan Rosli. This guy is really intelligent, beyond what we can imagine a typical engineering lecturer could be.

(Course Assessment Report) CAR Sample Data Training Meeting – for 1st year

Details:

Date/day : 20th Jan 2016/Wednesday

Venue : BMF

Time : 10am-12am

My 2 cents:

OBE ~ CRR system recording, reporting is crucial for our Chemical Engineering Faculty as well as other faculties in UTM. Having an effective user friendly system is essential. Dr. Wan Rosli has created from scratch a really brilliant system to be used to record, input, assess marks and analyse the CO and PO mapping, as well as continuous improvement effort. I believed the features are not limited to just that, there are more. I have tried it today and successfully created the CRR report cor my 1st year Introduction to Engineering subject.

While using the system, I practically tested it and suggested one point to Dr. Wan Rosli so he can improve it. No need to mention here. Let’s just hope, the improvement can be made and our task every end semester can be speed up 🙂

Bravo Dr. Wan Rosli. UTM should adopt this system. I am a proud user of it.
