Description
The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia commonly known as IEM, is a professional learned society serving more than 30,000 members in Malaysia and in the region. It was formed in 1959 and was admitted as a Member of the Commonwealth Engineers Council in 1962. With an estimated annual growth rate of 10%, IEM is one of the largest professional bodies in Malaysia.

Engineer’s Run was organised with the purpose of engaging society as well as gathering engineers around the region. The first JB Engineer’s Run was organised in 2014. This event attracted more than 1000 participants. This year, Young Engineers Section of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Southern Branch) will hold the second JB Engineer’s Run on 12th November 2016. This JB Engineer’s Run 2016 will definitely be one of the most highlighted events in the Southern Region for the year.

With the theme of “Go Green Run! Go Sustainability!”, our aim is to increase the awareness of sustainability among engineers and the public, and also to promote healthy lifestyle and the engineering profession to the public. Let us provide educational, recreational, cultural, healthy and lifelong learning opportunities for engineers and the society.
