2021 Day 39 Tasks – OBE Training for 100 Indonesian Lecturers

Today marks the starting of the 1st day of OBE training out of 4 days. I am involved as one of the facilitators and also host. The half day training was smooth and successful. Alhamdulillah.

There were 100 participants from Indonesia and about 16 combined speakers + facilitators.

Among my other tasks for today:

  • Submission of ICSEC2021 Extended Abstracts.
  • CEE Newshub article.
  • Submission of BCREC improved version manuscript, graphical abstract and payment.
  • Continue working on Moratuwa project.
  • Checking Myra Update progress.
  • Etc etc…

2021 Day 38 Tasks – Chairing PhD Student Second Assessment

The Master Energy MKKE Evaluation Session that took the whole afternoon after lunch. Was a very well session indeed.

It’s a new week in this fabulous February. As usual there are numerous official tasks. Among tasks completed for today:

  • Second Assessment for PhD student Mohd Arif Misrol – Title of PhD is Optimization of Simultaneous Water, Waste and Energy Nexus for Eco-Industrial Park – 11am – 12.30pm.
  • MKKE First Stage and Final Research presentation. Five students will present for their Part 1 Research while 1 student will present for his Part 2 Research – 2.15pm – 5pm.
  • Checking my PSM students slide presentation and thesis (PSM presentation will take place on this coming Tuesday).
  • Checking & monitoring IJET publication progress.
  • Managing RMC claim process.
  • Final check on the EIA Project Description draft.
  • Continue working on the Curriculum Review Report for MOU.
  • ETC … ETC …

2021 Day 37 Task – Checking Project Description of an EIA Project

This is going to be a long Saturday as they are just too many tasks to complete. Since the morning started to do:

  • Shared Mock PSM Presentation Webex video to my students
  • Check my PSM student correction slide.
  • Finalize writing and checking the Curriculum Program Review Report for MOU.
  • Check EIA Chapter 3 draft (continued since yesterday).
  • Prepare – check – read Dissertations and Proposals for MKKE Evaluation tomorrow.
  • Prepare Webex Link for PhD second assessment that I am the chairman tomorrow.
  • Resubmit conference fee claim form after being rejected by RMC on Thursday.
  • Final submission of Nazlina’s Chapter 5 to BCREC after being accepted. To submit final typesetting proof read, Graphical Abstract and Article Processing Cost (APC) payment.

I have written an article about the top 10 jobs for a chemical engineer. This entry will provide young generation as well as those who wants to be a chemical engineer wider scope and comprehension on available jobs for them once they graduated as a chemical engineer.

Day 366 Task – Green Hero Lab Audit on the Last Day of the Year

Yesterday I audited IBD with 3 Amtec post graduate students. Today I audited Biopolymer Lab at N29 with GREEN Research group member – Dr. Syaza.

Day 365 Task – Interviewed Candidate for CEE Assistant Research Officer

The Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) is one of the reputable centres in UTM. CEE managed a lot of activities that include courses, workshops, postgraduate programs, webminars, journal publications, and others. We really manpower to help run those projects.

In view of that, we opened a new ARO vacancy which can help us with all the activities mentioned above.

Day 364 Task – Grading ITE’s Stage 3 – Peer Teaching Note (PTN) and Reflection Journal

Since I have no class and meeting today, I am dedicated to perform the grading of these 2 assignments. PTN is fine but Reflection Journal is very long and time consuming to read. Nevertheless, I need to do it and need to do it fast. I could not afford to have my pending tasks accumulated because there will be more and more tasks coming to my face.

Day 363 Task – Certificate Template Preparation for ISP Contributors

There are many tasks today that needed to be completed such as conducting the ITE class together with Dr. Siti Hajjar, handling-managing AJEE journal, grading the Stage 3 assignments, and others, but since all of those has been reported as a specific tasks in previous posts, I am not interested to repeat.

Hence, I listed here something else that is new – That is preparing the list of contributors for the Industrial Profession and Seminar (ISP) SETK1511 course to prepare the certificate for them. The contributors roles were as speakers, moderators and forum panels and we need to acknowledge their significant contribution.

Day 362 Task – Attending Speed Reading Course

Today is an official replacement holiday for Christmas. Despite of my overloaded tasks, I think I need to do something new which is to participate in a Speed Reading Course. I am hopeful that this course can help me enhance my speed reading skills since I need to read a lot.

I can see that in the near future, I need to read journals, books, student assignments and others.
