Kursus Persediaan Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for Low Carbon Education in Iskandar Malaysia Bil. 5/2019.

Nampaknya cikgu-cikgu yang terlibat kebanyakannya dah boleh mengendalikan PBL di sekolah masing-masing. Kita dari Center of Engineering Education (CEE), UTM bantu guide dan pantau sikit-sikit. Good jobs teachers. Alah bisa tegal biasa!

HTGYE Mock Interview

Today, I have an interview session with final year students of Chemical Engineering. This is actually a Mock Interview to prepare the final students for interview when they start applying for work in a few months time. 15 students were interviewed in 4 sessions. I was the interviewer along side Dr. Dayang. It was an interesting session and we provided precious comments and inputs for the students.

Mesyuarat Ihya Ramadhan Surau Al-Taqwa, BBKP

The day hasn’t ended yet. There are still task and responsibility outside the office hour and also for the community. The meeting for the preparation for Ramadhan was held again tonight. Few meetings have been held before this, but this is the largest one attended by more committee members and Surau Jemaah. Ustaz Ismail, who is very busy was also present tonight. Alhamdulillah the meeting went well and ended around 10.20pm.

International Conference on Low Carbon Asia 2018 (ICLCA 2018) Story (24-25th OCTOBER 2018)

Photo session after the official opening ceremony of ICLCA 2018 😙

Alhamdulillah, ICLCA 2018 main event went smoothly well for today and yesterday. I am not in the committee but quite a number of my colleagues including my other half are the key committee members. I somehow played a small role as the Master of Ceremony for the first half or the first day opening session (opening speech, plenary talks and forum) as well as the co-chair for one of the parallel sessions. Thanks to the organising committee for giving me the opportunity to contribute in this awesome international event 🙂 .

Eventhough i didn’t personally present in this conference, i have 2 of my PhD students presenting 2 technical papers each (total of 4 papers). Alhamdulillah.

Earlier before the conference, my other half suggested to showcase and promote my book in ICLCA 2018. Hmmm… It was indeed an amazing idea that i haven’t thought and imagined before. Fortunately the organising committee was very positive on the idea and they were sporting and very encouraging. So the books were displayed on a section of the registration table. Redhuan, my other half’s master student took care and help managed my books. Thanks bro 😉 .

Thank you Prof. Dr. Kamarul Asri for getting my new book

Thank you Prof. Dr. Kamarul Asri for getting my new book. I am so touched that a really amazing professor that we respect and look upon in the Faculty wanted to read my humble sharing. MasyaAllah.

I sincerely hope there’s something that can be of good use for Prof. K in the book. InsyaAllah.

Ramblings of a Chemical Engineer – Get Ready for My First Book :)

There is a reason for this. There is a reason why I write this book. The reason is similar to why I started my Chemical Engineering World blog 13 years ago. I wanted to share experiences and informal knowledge of a practicing engineer.

This book will be ready somewhere in August.

“Learn something about chemical engineering that is not inside your text book”, that has always be my tagline.

Stay tune to capture the adventure of a chemical engineer. Get updates from my FB Chemical Engineering World Page.

What is Proximate Analysis and Ultimate Analysis

What is Proximate Analysis?

Proximate analysis is a way to determine the distribution of products when the samples are heated under specified conditions.

From: Fuel Flexible Energy Generation, 2016

What is Ultimate Analysis?

Ultimate Analysis Tests. Ultimate analysis tests produce more comprehensive results than the proximate analyses. SGS uses the results from ultimate analysis tests to determine the elemental composition of the coal including moisture, ash, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen (by difference).
