Day 154b Task – Complete Reviewing 2 Papers and Managing AJEE

There’re lots to do but limited time. Yes, although we work from home, seems like we are not working, but in actual, there are too many works to do. For instance, today, I woke up very early in the morning with the mission to work and slash the following activities from my Today To Do List:

  1. Preparation of Toyota Foundation Research Proposal Grant.
  2. Grading Master Safety assignments, quiz and tests.
  3. Reviewing manuscript from Mediterranean Journal of Chemistry (MJC).
  4. Reviewing manuscript from Education for Chemical Engineers (ECE).
  5. Managing Asean Journal for Chemical Engineers (AJEE) as we are publishing the 4th Volume (Issue 1) this month, online.
  6. Preparation for the Talk I am going to give today.
  7. Checking my post graduate students review paper to be published soon in ECM.

Day 149 Task – TOYOTA Empathy Grant Meeting #2

The Toyota Empathy grant submission date is just around the corner and our team is working hard to prepare this research grant. The budget is 10 million Yen for 2 years, which is quite a hefty amount for this kind of research. Our meeting kicked start as early as 9am and we discussed the approached,  research objectives, methodology and divided the tasks among us based on our expertise.  We shall meet up again in Webex this Sunday afternoon to share updates on our progress in the proposal preparation.

Day 143 Task – Toyota Foundation International Grant Program 2020

It’s almost Hari Raya and there are plenty of house chores need to be done. Cleaning and tidying up. Because of that, I did not perform any official task today. I’m sorry. So, how does our house looks like after cleaning?

Anyway, I did read about this Toyota Foundation International Grant Program 2020 which CEE will prepare a proposal for. There was a meeting yesterday but I couldn’t join because I was having this Active Learning Discussion.  Today I had the opportunity to check out to discuss a bit with Dr. Aziatul Niza and Dr. Nurzal Effiyana about the project where I am part of the team member. OK, need to work on this after Hari Raya soon. InsyaAllah.

The International Grant Program of the Toyota Foundation continues the sixth year of its program “Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbors: Practitioners’ Exchange on Common Issues in Asia”, focusing on countries in East and Southeast Asia. The grant program focuses on deepening mutual understanding and knowledge-sharing among people on the ground in target countries who are finding solutions to shared issues. Through promoting direct interaction among key players, the grant program aims to survey and analyze situations in target countries, obtain new perspectives, and expand the potential of future generations
