Day 265 Task – RCEE2020 Preparation Meeting

Since RCEE2020 is around the corner, we started to feel the tense and adrenaline. It is time to check up again all the checklist, the flow, the technical preparation etc. Today is also the due date for the submission of consortium grant, hence the Director was busy preparing for the mega grant. I was asked to chair the meeting and ensure everything will be smooth and fine. It was initially challenging because I am not the best person who knew the overall of the conference, but someone must handle that and I was assigned. Alhamdulillah the cooperation from all committees were brilliant and amazing.
Lets hope and pray that we’ll successfully run RCEE2020 superbly.

Day 264 Task – Still Work Marathon

I shared yesterday about the numerous tasks that needed to be completed and weekend is the time to perform the marathon of work. Well, today it continues. I am done with checking my PhD student’s Chapter 7 and 8 earlier in the morning. Now, now I am working on to next task.
At the same time, the continuous discussion on preparation for RCEE and other CEE related tasks are on going in the Whatsapp group. Many decisions are to be made collectively and as a fellow member of CEE I felt obligated to help and participate in the discussion as much as I can, even though it is an off day today.
I’ll try to work as much as I can, as much as I can cope, then after lunch I will probably take a break.

Day 263 Task – Preparing RCEE2020 Paper Presentation Video & CEE Video

The weekend break is supposed to be theoretically a rest day. But for many of the CEE fellow members, it is a day for “work marathon”. There are tonnes of work to be accomplished and we always have to deliver it. Imagine last week, on a beautiful Friday, I was also working. At the time this post was written, I have successfully completed preparing the video for paper presentation RCEE2020. but I am yet to complete other pending tasks, and the lists can be read below (i didn’t list down everything yet):
- Read Chapter 7 of my phd student
- Improve paper ICLCA2020 for CET publication
- Prepare 2 minute CEE introductory video
- Prepare End Report GUP grant
- Submit the long pending review paper to a journal
- Check the oil tank specifications

Day 262 Task – Site Visit for RCEE2020 Operation Room

Today in the morning all RCEE2020 committee visited the Computer Lab at School of Mechanical Engineering. This will be our place for running the RCEE2020 conference after the 1st place have been rejected. The lab seems to be very good, comfortable, spacious and I can imagine that we are going to have a good time running the conference here. InsyaAllah.
We finalized the details of the program such as the moderators, the speakers, the topics, the panels, and much more. Additional task for me was to create a 2 minute CEE introductory video. Hmmm… a challenging task but well, I need to do it.

Day 261 Task – Hari Malaysia Off Day

Today is 16th September 2020, an important day for Malaysia. It’s Hari Malaysia. My parents visited me and stayed one night since the day before. We went for breakfast and lunch together. Breakfast was just near the house but lunch was quite far away which was at Kedai Makan Rahmat, Kampung Pasir Puteh, near Pasir Gudang. They have not been there, so we brought them there to try the delicious Ikan Siakap goreng meal.
On another note, I have not been able to do any official task today because my family activities.
