Day 143 Task – Toyota Foundation International Grant Program 2020

It’s almost Hari Raya and there are plenty of house chores need to be done. Cleaning and tidying up. Because of that, I did not perform any official task today. I’m sorry. So, how does our house looks like after cleaning?

Anyway, I did read about this Toyota Foundation International Grant Program 2020 which CEE will prepare a proposal for. There was a meeting yesterday but I couldn’t join because I was having this Active Learning Discussion.  Today I had the opportunity to check out to discuss a bit with Dr. Aziatul Niza and Dr. Nurzal Effiyana about the project where I am part of the team member. OK, need to work on this after Hari Raya soon. InsyaAllah.

The International Grant Program of the Toyota Foundation continues the sixth year of its program “Cultivating Empathy Through Learning from Our Neighbors: Practitioners’ Exchange on Common Issues in Asia”, focusing on countries in East and Southeast Asia. The grant program focuses on deepening mutual understanding and knowledge-sharing among people on the ground in target countries who are finding solutions to shared issues. Through promoting direct interaction among key players, the grant program aims to survey and analyze situations in target countries, obtain new perspectives, and expand the potential of future generations

Panel-panel terdiri daripada PM Ir Dr Mimi Haryani Hasim, Dr. Muhd Nazrul Hisham Zainal Alam, Dr. Hasrinah Hasbullah dan saya sendiri. Manakala PM Dr. Kamarudin adalah Moderator bagi program ini.

Day 140 Task – Reviewed Manuscript Under BCREC Journal

I almost forgot to review this manuscript but luckily I managed to submit before the deadline. Usually I will do my best to review any manuscripts submitted to me within 1-3 days. But this time, I accidentally reviewed after 7 days. My bad. Anyway, the job has been completed and as usual, it is interesting to review a new manuscript as I can learn many new scholarly knowledge regarding reaction and catalysis engineering.

Day 139 Task – CEE New Building Project Renovation Site Visit

Today, after getting permission to enter UTM, I headed directly to C09 block, which will be the new building block for Centre for Engineering Education (CEE), UTM. It is a massive, far bigger than what I have imagined before. The renovation will be monitored by Jabatan Harta Bina (JHB). We had a meeting just now with the JHB team to finalized the details requirement for the massive renovation, covering 2 floors of C09. May Allah make this easy and smooth. InsyaAllah.

Day 138 Task – Managing CEE’s AJEE Journal

ajee utmI admit that it is not easy task to be a journal editor. I have to keep on managing, keeping track of the manuscript coming, reviewed, revised, camera ready and many more. But I appreciate this new experience and I am going to be there to grasp the challenge to make AJEE a Scopus Indexed journal. It is no easy task but so far, I can assure that we are on track to make that happen soon. InsyaAllah.

Today, I revisited the manuscripts and followed up several reviewers and authors. Hopefully everything will be a smooth journey.

Day 137 Task – Rest Day from All the Official Task

After a long and hectic week working at home, I decided to take a break which I need most. Even though I wanted to work, but I can’t. I realized it because I was mentally exhausted and that is the point i knew that I need to take a break again. Nothing to do. Just relax, watch some TV show, connect with my family and do some house cleaning.

Too much of something is bad enough… just like Spice Girl’s song.

Day 136 Task – PDP Team Meeting

It’s public holiday today but that doesn’t stop us to having this weekly meeting. At 11am, we had this meeting to discuss on the progress of my students. The meeting was fruitful, numerous issues were resolved and the students will continue to work on the projects. They have selected to have Shell and Tube heat Exchanger for the Mechanical Engineering Drawing part.
