Roughly at 11.40pm this night, I managed to submit an abstract to ICoST2020 conference via EasyChair system. This work which was done by JL Lim, my PSM student who diligently work on the thermodynamic modelling. Hopefully this abstract will be accepted for presentation and subsequently accepted for publication in any of the scopus journal under the agreement with this conference.
Despite attending the engineering education Workshop Part 3, I attended the PhD mock viva for Shafiqah, a student that I co-supervised (She is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mazura Jusoh). The event took place at 2.15pm till 5pm. The session was very fruitful and hopefully she can rapidly improve her slides and presentation for next week’s VIVA session.
Today is the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. We are presently at Atlantis Residence, Melaka. Soon we will be going to De Villa Bungalow neat Klebang area to be united with my extended family. There are not much official task going on today because we are fully pack with plenty of activities, meeting up with my parents and siblings + family. However, I just need to be keep updated with the progress of Erasmus Project which started few days ago. I was added to the group on Thursday, the day before CNY. It is a huge mega project and many academicians from various universities in Malaysia are involved. I was one of them, thanks for the recommendation from my mentor. For now I will just keep on with the progress and help on in any area I can and I am asked to.

Today is the Chinese New Year Day. Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends!
Although we are on a short family break, I still wanted to complete the Course Assessment Report (CAR). In overall I need to complete 5 CAR. I have done 3 of them and left with 2 which are for the Introduction to Engineering course. Unfortunately there was some problem. The system stated 5 of my students to be unknown! I will sort this out soon. I already reported this to the Head of Program for further action.

I had a important meeting today at the Deputy Vice Chancellor Office (TNCA) regarding the discussion on Master Energy Program Curriculum Discussion and Checking. The meeting was conducted to improve the curriculum of the course in view of the earlier MQA comment on the program. The photo above is just showing the scenario after the meeting 🙂 .
Besides that, today I have several targets to accomplished today. Among them are to finalize the marks for Introduction to Engineering (ITE) course as well as Seminar and Industrial Profession (ISP) Course. Besides that, there are other tasks that need to be worked on and I must work smart and fast.

Today is a Friday, a long waited public holiday in Johor Bahru. But, early in the morning, I woke up to read nearly half of the remaining Meta Reflection from my 1st year chemical engineering students. It’s a lot to read but at the same time quite interesting to read how the student narrate the content, assessment, reflective thinking, evaluation and feedback. Finally, I managed to complete marking all and inserting the marks. Fuhh…

Today, I did my best to complete the grading for ITE Stage 3 report. There were altogether 12 reports that need to be graded. Alhamdulillah, this challenging task of reading the report was successfully completed today. Next is to grade the Meta Reflection Journal of my students. Each Meta reflection journal is 4 pages multiply that by 41 students. Can you imagine the amount of write up I must read?
