Tafsiran Lirik Lagu “Hijab Kekasih”

Lirik: Seth (Loloq)
Komposer/Penyanyi: M.Nasir

Malai rindu ku merintih kecintaan
Duduk termenung hanya bingung kerinduan
Walaupun jauh dari nyata
Kasih dan sayang telah lama ku satukan
Semua kasih ku dalam gemala
Ke laut jawi kan ku kirimkan salam

Duhai kasih hijab mu di sini
Mahsyur rupa mu di mata kalbu ini
Berbaringan diusik rindu azali
Dimanakah kekasih yang jauh dari ku
Memakan debu rindu mu

Segenap nafas ku melihat renungan mu
Wangi dan harum kau kekasih
Antara lamunan segala kalimah ku ini
Siapa yang mengerti

Menghilang tahun ku tahan dahaga
Setelah habis madah untuk sang puteri
Pautan kasih ku kenal sendiri
Teringin ku melihat sebalik hijab mu
Wajah yang ku puja

Kekasih lama sudah aku merindu
Larut nan denai larat nan damai

Wallahualam…

How Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, and Bongkor Became the Pride of Hulu Langat: Uncovering the Origins and Unique Flavors of Traditional Malay Delights

By Shahabuddin Amerudin

Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, or Bongkor – three names that are synonymous with the traditional Malay delicacy, known for its unique taste, texture, and aroma. These delectable treats are a favorite among the Malays, especially those from Hulu Langat, Selangor, and are now becoming increasingly popular across the country.

This delicacy has been the subject of extensive research by Tuan Khairuddin Ismail from Hulu Langat, Selangor, who has delved deep into the history and origins of this mouth-watering delicacy. He discovered that Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, or Bongkor are the most popular names for this delicious dessert, with Jongkong being the most commonly used.

It is believed that Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, or Bongkor are the products of two major ethnic groups in Malaysia, namely the Mendailing and Minangkabau. These groups have been known to produce and sell this traditional dessert, particularly in Hulu Langat. The Minangkabau prefer to call it Kuih Bongkok or Kuih Bongkor, with the only difference being the spelling. The origin of the name Kuih Bongkok can be traced back to a friend of Tuan Khairuddin Ismail, who is only known as Abang Man, who stated that the ancestor who made this dessert was a hunchback.

In general, Kuih Jongkong is more popular among the Mendailing people, while the Minangkabau people tend to use the name Kuih Bongkok or Kuih Bongkor. Today, there are five Kuih Jongkong entrepreneurs in Hulu Langat, four of whom are die-hard Mendailing people, but the other entrepreneur’s origin remains unknown.

All these entrepreneurs commonly refer to this delicacy as Kuih Jongkong in their daily conversations, promotions, and banners. In social media conversations around Hulu Langat, netizens also tend to use the name Kuih Jongkong.

One of the most well-known Kuih Jongkong entrepreneurs since the 1960s is located in Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat, known as Pak Udin Pecal. There is a claim made by a Minangkabau person that his ancestor was among the earliest or first to make this dessert in Dusun Tua.

Kuih Jongkong is a popular choice for breaking the fast during the month of Ramadan and is also enjoyed for sahur, the pre-dawn meal. However, the best time to savor its taste is after the Tarawikh prayer. Therefore, Kuih Jongkong needs to be stored in a refrigerator to preserve its aroma, authenticity, and deliciousness.

In conclusion, Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, or Bongkor have their roots in the Mendailing and Minangkabau people, particularly in Dusun Tua and Hulu Langat, Selangor. Although this delicacy can be found in other parts of Malaysia, it is not as flavorful and aromatic as those from Hulu Langat, where demand is always high, and market needs cannot always be met. Experience the authentic taste of Kuih Jongkong, Bongkok, or Bongkor and indulge in the richness of its heritage and cultural significance.

The Impact of Time Zone Differences on Sleep Patterns and Human Life: A Case Study of Malaysia

By Shahabuddin Amerudin

The concept of time zones plays a crucial role in our modern life as it enables us to synchronize schedules across different regions of the world. However, there has been an ongoing debate on whether time zone differences have positive or negative impacts on human life, particularly on sleep patterns. Malaysia follows the GMT+8 time zone, which is one hour ahead of neighboring countries like Indonesia and Thailand. Although this difference may appear insignificant, it can significantly affect daily life, particularly sleep patterns.

Opponents of the GMT+8 time zone in Malaysia argue that it can adversely affect human life as studies have demonstrated that people living in regions with a time zone difference of more than one hour are more susceptible to sleep disruptions and insomnia. This is due to the disruption of the body’s internal clock, which regulates sleep patterns, by sudden changes in the time of day. Malaysia experiences earlier sunrises than neighboring countries such as Thailand, resulting in people waking up earlier than preferred. This can lead to sleep deprivation, which is linked to numerous health problems, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

However, proponents of the GMT+8 time zone in Malaysia argue that it is beneficial as the one-hour difference allows the country to be better aligned with major business hubs such as Singapore and Hong Kong. This has positive economic implications as it makes it easier for Malaysians to conduct business with other countries in the region, driving economic growth and development.

Malaysia’s time zone changed on January 1, 1982, when the country transitioned from GMT+7:30 to GMT+8 to align with its neighbors and major economic centers in the region. Although it is difficult to determine the impact of the time zone change on human health, there is evidence to suggest that it may have contributed to the rise of sleep-related health problems in Malaysia. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine revealed that people living in regions with a time zone difference of more than one hour were more likely to experience insomnia and other sleep disturbances.

Apart from the time zone difference, long work hours and high levels of stress may also contribute to sleep-related health problems in Malaysia. Despite these concerns, the GMT+8 time zone in Malaysia has had positive effects by aligning the country with major economic centers in the region, facilitating business and trade, and contributing to Malaysia’s economic growth and development.

In conclusion, the impact of time zone differences on human life is a complex issue, with both positive and negative effects. While the GMT+8 time zone in Malaysia has had some negative impacts on sleep patterns and health, it has also had positive economic implications. As such, policymakers must carefully consider the trade-offs involved when making decisions about time zone changes. However, further research is needed to better understand the relationship between time zone differences and health outcomes in Malaysia. It is recommended that policymakers and researchers conduct more detailed studies to determine if the increase in sleep-related health problems in peninsular Malaysia is related to the GMT+8 time zone difference, or if other factors such as long work hours and high levels of stress are contributing to this phenomenon. By understanding the underlying causes of these health problems, policymakers can take more targeted actions to improve the health and well-being of Malaysians.

Peranan Silat dalam Dunia Moden: Warisan Budaya yang Terus Relevan

Oleh Shahabuddin Amerudin

Pendahuluan
