Binge watching of a Chinese drama called The rise of phoenices. 70 episodes finally done piiiuuh.  I was struck by a statement made by a character, who is a reputable scholar Ziyan. He reminded the new emperor, who is also his closed friend, of their new status by saying ‘mountains and rivers seem close but a distance of a few steps seems far’.  Hmmm very deep indeed.

There are two reasons for things to happen either as Tests or Punishments. Both are equally good. The former, if you pass you will get a great reward and the latter, it will wash your sin away.  It is important to stay positive and optimistic no matter what happens.
