Coping with Stress during MCO – 1

This morning, 18 January 2021, we had a session with AP Dr Mastura on how to cope with stress during MCO. It was a very fruitful and lively session. What I got from her session is we should relax and do not exaggerate things.

I would like to share with you a video on how to deal with stress in Islam

Hearing, Sight and Heart

On 17 July 2020, I wrote ‘we see with eyes, listen with our ears and sense with our heart for efficacious communication’, which I got from the Chinese drama entitled Qin Empire: Alliance.

On 14 August 2020,  I came across the verse 2:7 in the Quran which means the same thing.  For people who don’t want to believe in the Quran, Allah has sealed their heart, ears and eyes so that they will never be able to understand. This thus proves that these three sensory abilities are extremely important for us to completely understand what is going on around us.

Al-Baqarah 2:7

Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

And today I got another surah that has the similar message

Al-Isra’ 17:36

A related quote regarding eye, ear and heart by Robert Frost.

There are three things, after all, that a poem must reach: the eye, the ear, and what we may call the heart or the mind. It is the most important of all to reach the heart of the reader.

— Robert Frost

“If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.”― Sun Tzu

Don’t let your emotion cloud your judgement.

Use your Heart, Ears and Eyes

On 17 July 2020, I wrote ‘we see with eyes, listen with our ears and sense with our heart for efficacious communication’, which I got from the Chinese drama entitled Qin Empire: Alliance. Interestingly this morning I came across the verse 2:7 in the Quran which means the same thing.

In our daily life we might come across two people, who are at loggerheads, let say A and B.  The third party, C, comes in and shows favours towards B. B feels special whilst A feels dissapointed. But, neither A nor B knows the real intention of C. Without realising B  has become the prey to the cunning C.  The Malay idiom for this is ‘keluar mulut buaya masuk mulut naga’, which has the same meaning with ‘out of the frying pan into the fire’.  By which A is the buaya 🐊 or frying pan 🍳 and C is the naga 🐉 or fire 🔥.

If you were A and could see the real C, would you tell B of the C’s evil intention or would you just keep it to yourself 🤫?
